Career Plans

The career I am interested in being in the fashion marketing. I would enjoy being a fashion designer than having a common job that is similar to everybody else. I am certainly sure that I would enjoy using my imagination to make clothing that stand out.

The reason I've thought about this career field is because I love imaging new designs and patterns for my clothes as a daily activity. It's a unique job that pays what you enjoy. Although I don't draw I like art using computer programs. I also like describing the texture, sense and visual look of it. I believe I have just as much skills to work in the fashion marketing and improve over time.

As a designer in general for any typical art. You have to maintain a quick inspirational and new look otherwise, you get eliminated. That means you will be 'outdated' because your not providing enough skills as a fashion designer or a designer for others.  I like trying new things than being average. It's because being average is ordinary.

  • What are the special skills, talents, traits qualifications needed for the occupation you're interested in? That you must the deadline and they don't temporarily accept late work. Also how you need to have strong skills with computer.  You will need to always be productive by trying out new ideas. I think because I get along with people easily I won't have problems with getting clients to appreciate my work.
  • In what ways are you suited for this career? I get inspired really quickly and I am really independent so, I don't need help that much. I just solve my own problems. If you rely on others for help sometimes, it becomes a habit and that's very bad. The only time I really ask for assistance is when I tried everything and is really stuck.
  • Where could you gain experience NOW for this career? What steps (think creatively) could you take to gain experience - before you graduate? I can become a fashion designer assistant or become a intern temporarily. I will be trying to get a work permit. Also, get a local job that can help pay for college. If you don't get a job you don't have money to pay for college. Financial aid will assist me on the way but, I can't just rely on the government because there aren't any guarantees that they won't take it away.
  • From your searching, the number of jobs available in California and what the Department of Labor & Statistics states about the "job outlook" for your career field - what did you discover? It's a very competitive job and that you will need to get a bachelor degree to gain more money. Also, your suppose to have high expectation on your work. Otherwise, you will slack and your work would show. It's a competition job so, you have to always be on your A game. Not many choose this path because it's very risky.

Say No To Drugs PSA Poster

My topic was about Say No To Drugs. I designed a poster that gives a perspective of the consequences of what happens when you take drugs. The poster explains how you in most cases drugs kill people. There are facts that support the side-effects of taking drugs but its what we think that can change our mind. Like it shows how even while he was half unconscious, he's still smoking. This poster is just showing how if you don't do drugs you just have health problems because of your choice you make.

I learned how doing drugs won't make you better but worse. For an example, how it effects the way our brain corporates and function. It makes us extra old if you start drinking at a young age. But people still want drugs because its stressless and they don't know death until they are at that point. Also, how if we acknowledge the results of taking drugs at a young age, we are likely not going to take it.

The interesting facts I used from the website was how taking pills slowly kill you drinking alcohol destroys the inside of your body. Also, how you can die from doing drugs but sometimes you don't care. There could be tons of medications invented to save people but just us that makes the decision to make a change or not. Its only beneficial and helping to those who take drugs or plan on to take drugs. In conclusion, drugs aren't necessary in life but should be allowed to use for because we can live and live without but it depends on the situation.

My rough sketches and ideas are here. They are the structures of my final poster. I chose the design on the far right to base off on my actual poster. The sketches help brainstorm what I should draw like an outline for a essay. The designs are designated to explain how drug abuse could harm the person taking it. It can be taken anywhere and any place which makes a mess.

My finished PSA informs and educates how people can live without drugs. It also explains in the poster how each of the drugs effect your body. It gives an atmosphere of how people can take drugs in anywhere like possibly a room alone. Your life span is short but with drugs its shorter. We are in control of our own actions but some just chose something that kills them which becomes a addiction.

Scenario 1: A teacher took copies from the internet for a class assignment.
Yes, this teacher should be allowed to due so for education purposes and it is a fair usage. This is copyright infringement.

Scenario 1: A 14 year old girl wanted to earn more money for a brand new bicycle. She resales her latest CD's of Bruno Mars on Amazon.
Yes, the girl is allowed to resale her CD's of Bruno Mars because she had purchased it so its hers. This is copyright infringement.

Fair use is like a way of saying you have the right to claim the copyright infringement. Unless, you claimed that you made the Justin Timberlake CD then, you broke the law. You stole someone's work and that's not fair use. When you publish a work on the internet typically, you would were "Copyright Infringement" meaning you don't owe the company or product but you had either purchased it and wanted to share your opinion on it. Criticism is someone's opinion, but don't troll about it.

Shepard Fairey begged to be guilty in February for destroying documents. He was fined for $25,000 back 2009. He was charged for using the image under the fair use doctrine. Color Psychology

The web article Color Psychology explains how every color has a meaning behind it. I discovered that we are connected to color. Colors are everywhere, its the sight we always see. Most of the time, the color we choose represent the mood we are in. For an example, my temporary favorite color is red. I am in a warmth mood because I feel cozy wearing a jacket while some people wear shorts. Therefore, the Color Psychology can be used everyday.
The article reference can be found here: Color Psychology: The Emotional Effects of Color.

The web article for 'Color in Advertising' is the colors have different shadings. Like for an example yellow, red, and orange are related. The color and mood in the ads usually try and include feelings. Like the brighter the color it shows the happiness while with black its a neutral feeling. Sometimes, color swatches help represent the texture of a material as well. Color in advertising help us visually feel the object from a picture.

My Dream Destination Get Away

New York City is my dream destination because its famously known for one of the best shopping sprees for ladies specifically. People see New York City in the movies. I want to see New York City myself, experimenting the life as a New Yorker. In California, you don't see large buildings such as New York City. I want to travel and see what their food is like. I wouldn't know the flavors unless I got a bite.

I would love to be those girls in the movies looking all elegant walking around 'Time Squares'. I would be walking with shopping bags and my Starbucks. I like when the weather is cold so if I traveled there I can appear cozy with a good reasoning. Different locations have another aspect of life. Like in New York City, it reminds me of Hollywood but in a bigger and maybe colder place. Therefore, I would preferably want to visit there during sometime of my life span.

This is the official website of New York City. It's history is include in the context. If you are interested in historical facts of NewYork City, how it was slowly developed please feel free to check it out. It can be found here.
